Privacy Policy

OmniCharting ("we", "us") is operated by xmark/builds. This policy explains what data the site handles. In short: we keep it minimal, and accounts are entirely optional — every charting and backtesting feature works without one.

Information we collect

• Account data (only if you sign up): your email address, and the strategies you choose to save to your account, are stored in our database so you can access them from any device. If you sign up with a password, we store only a salted cryptographic hash of it — never the password itself. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address (and basic profile name) from Google; we never see your Google password.
• Strategies & preferences (in your browser): without an account — and for browser-saved strategies, your layout, and your chosen theme even with one — data is stored in your browser's localStorage on your own device. Clearing your browser data removes it.
• Requests you make: when you load a chart or run a backtest, your chosen ticker, date range and parameters are sent to our server to fetch market data and compute results.
• Standard server logs: like most websites, our hosting may record basic technical information (IP address, browser type, timestamps) for security and reliability.

Cookies & tracking

OmniCharting does not use advertising or tracking cookies. If you sign in, we set a session cookie (and, if you choose "Remember me", a longer-lived sign-in cookie) — these exist solely to keep you signed in and are not used for tracking. We use localStorage to remember your strategies and preferences as described above. If we add analytics or advertising in the future, this policy will be updated and disclosed here before doing so.

Third-party services

• Market data is retrieved from public sources (Yahoo Finance).
• Charting library (Plotly) is loaded from a public CDN.
• Sign in with Google (optional): if you use it, Google confirms your email address to us. This is governed by Google's own privacy policy; we request only your basic email and profile information, nothing else from your Google account.

These providers may receive standard request information (such as your IP address) when their resources load, governed by their own privacy policies.

Your data & deletion

Your saved strategies belong to you. We don't sell or share your account data. To delete your account and everything stored with it (your email and all account-saved strategies), email us at the address below from your account's email address and we'll remove it.

Your choices

You can use OmniCharting fully without an account; accounts only add cloud-saved strategies. You can export any strategy to a file at any time, and you can clear your locally-stored data through your browser settings.
